These events will involve <strong data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1408\">faculty from other Italian and international universities<\/strong>, as well as <strong data-start=\"1421\" data-end=\"1461\">high-level experts and professionals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;PhD Committee&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1750757659328-1c00766c-9098&#8243;][vc_column_text]After admission to the doctoral degree trajectory, the doctoral candidate is assigned to <strong>a Supervisor<\/strong> appointed by the Doctoral Faculty Board, among the faculty members of the LUM University University. The candidate and the Supervisor establish the training and supervision plan and nominate <strong>2 or 3 Co-Supervisors<\/strong> among recognized experts in the field of the training plan. <strong>Plans and Co-Supervisors must be approved as soon as possible by the Doctoral Faculty Board.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the discretion of the board, one of the supervisors may also be appointed among experts in the field from other universities, hospitals or research centres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The supervisor and the Co-Supervisors form the PhD Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least once a year the doctoral candidate and the PhD Committee evaluate the progress of the doctoral degree trajectory. The initiative to this end will be taken by the Supervisor, or if that initiative is not forthcoming, at the request of the doctoral candidate. A brief report is made of the evaluation, which is included in the doctoral candidate&#8217;s file.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, the final assessment of each candidate\u2019s admission to the third year and to the discussion of the final thesis is in charge of the Doctoral Faculty Board.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Research proposal and final thesis&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1750757685516-a3d9299e-0e30&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"425\">The <strong data-start=\"131\" data-end=\"152\">research proposal<\/strong> represents a first <strong data-start=\"172\" data-end=\"191\">\u2018reality check\u2019<\/strong> for both <strong data-start=\"201\" data-end=\"226\">students and advisors<\/strong>. The aim of the process is <strong data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"319\">enabling the students to elaborate a robust research proposal<\/strong> capable of producing <strong data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"363\">publishable papers<\/strong> through <strong data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"424\">planning of both scientific and practical issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"427\" data-end=\"528\">The <strong data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"461\">research forming the basis<\/strong> of the PhD research proposal must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"1087\">a. The <strong data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"559\">doctoral candidate<\/strong> has to have <strong data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"614\">carried out the research independently<\/strong> or has to have made an <strong data-start=\"638\" data-end=\"664\">essential contribution<\/strong> to it;<br data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"674\" \/>b. The <strong data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"711\">research must be conducted<\/strong> in accordance with the <strong data-start=\"735\" data-end=\"775\">code of conduct or professional code<\/strong> that applies to professional conduct in the scientific field concerned and in accordance with the <strong data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"902\" data-is-only-node=\"\">principles and standards<\/strong> as expressed in the current <strong data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"981\">Italian Code of Conduct for Research Integrity<\/strong>;<br data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"985\" \/>c.
